Your printer runs its mechanical cycle and feeds paper normally, but the sheets come out completely blank. You might assume the machine is broken or out of ink, but that is rarely the case. The delivery path for the ink or toner is blocked.
Check for protective tape left on a new cartridge. Printhead nozzles might be clogged with dried ink, or air bubbles could be trapped in the supply tubes of a tank printer. A loose cartridge can break the electrical connection needed to fire the nozzles. On laser printers, a disconnected or damaged transfer roller causes the same blank output. Corrupted printer drivers can also send blank instruction sets straight to the machine.
