How to Add a Printer to Windows 11

To add a printer in Windows 11, go to Settings, select Bluetooth and devices, and add your USB or network device there.

If Windows fails to find your network printer automatically, the printer is not broken. You just need a manual IP configuration. Network printers require a dynamic IP via DHCP or a properly assigned static IP. Your computer firewall can also block network printer discovery.

Do not blame the hardware if your installation queue gets stuck. The Print Spooler manages your print jobs, and restarting this service clears most stuck queues. If you are missing software, check optional driver updates in Windows Update. Windows commonly uses WSD ports for automatic network printer installation.
